Prof. Liat Hamama is a senior lecturer at the Bob Shapell School of Social Work at Tel Aviv University. Her scientific work focuses on exploring the correlations between stressful/traumatic situations, personal and environmental resources, coping and subjective well-being. Her research is anchored and expands theoretical models of stress and coping and she examines salutogenic questions with reference to three central target populations: children and adolescents, the populations that support and/or surround them (including parents, social workers, teachers), and healthcare providers (nurses and physicians).
From September 2021, Prof. Hamama has been appointed to the head of the Adler Center for Child Welfare and Protection.
Since 2010, Prof. Hamama has been listed on the “100 List” of best teachers at Tel Aviv University. Moreover, from 2010 through 2021, she was awarded four times the “Rectors Award of Excellence in Teaching”.
