About

Founded in 1970, the French Friends of Tel Aviv University works to foster strong relations between the University and the wider French community, and to assist TAU in its long-range plans for development. The Association is proud of its members' achievements and of its history of enriching Tel Aviv University, its researchers, students and the wider community.

Since its creation, the French Friends Association has succeeded in raising substantial funds for research, education and physical infrastructure in various fields, including the humanities, medicine, nanotechnology, social sciences, exact sciences and the arts. It has also provided extensive support to students, based both on academic merit and financial need.  The Association also works to promote TAU's standing through prestigious exchange programs with leading French universities such as Sciences Po and Sorbonne Paris IV.

The French Friends Association enjoys the participation of hundreds of members and is headed by Prof. Francois Heilbronn. Its Honorary Committee is headed by Christian Poncelet, former President of the French Senate, and has many acclaimed members, including Jean-Claude Trichet, François Baroin and Nobel laureate Claude Cohen-Tanoudji, among others.

Membership in the French Friends is open to anyone who would like to aid Tel Aviv University in achieving its development goals. We invite you to join our family and to continue this history of friendship and support.
